Effective Date: April 6, 2026
This document describes how Riget collects, uses, and handles your personal data when you use our websites, software, and services (collectively, the “Services”).
Account information: We collect the information you provide to us when you sign up for your account, upgrade to a paid plan, and set up two-factor authentication. The information may include your name, email address, phone number, physical address, device location, and payment information. We associate this information with your account.
Your Files: The Services provide a secure way for you to provide remote access to files (“your Files”) stored on your personal or business device(s) (“your Devices”) on which you have installed our FortiFile application. The application must be associated with an account we provide as part of the Services. Your Files may include documents, photos, and other types of files.
Your Communications: The Services also provide a secure way for you to communicate with other users of the Services using end-to-end encrypted communications (“your Communications”) provided by the FortiFile application, including text messages, group chats, audio calls, and video calls.
Access and storage of your Files and Communications: We do not access or store your Files. We store your Communications (such as texts) on our servers, but they are fully encrypted and we cannot access them (we cannot decrypt them).
We have no access to the content of your Files or your Communications. We do know information about your Files, such as file name, file size, file type, and who accessed the Files. We also know information about your Communications, such as who you communicated with, when the Communication occurred, and the type of Communication (such as a text message, an audio call, or a video call).
If a relay is needed (for example, to establish a peer-to-peer connection in a foreign country), the File or Communication may be streamed through a relay we provide. If such a relay is necessary, we have no access to the File or Communication (we cannot decrypt it) as it is relayed and the File or Communication is not stored.
IP address: To make peer-to-peer remote access possible, we obtain your IP address in order to update your friends list to enable your Devices to establish peer-to-peer communications with devices associated with accounts on your friends list. This means we may share your IP address and some user information (such as your username and mobile number) with accounts that you have placed on your friends list.
Contacts: You may choose to give us access to your contacts in order to add contacts you select to your friends list. If you do, we store those contacts on our servers.
Usage information: We collect information related to how you use the Services, including actions you take with respect to your account (like adding or deleting contacts from your friends list). We collect information from the FortiFile application installed on your Devices, including information necessary for peer-to-peer connectivity (such as your IP address).
Device information: We collect information about the devices you use to access the Services. This includes IP addresses, the type of browser and device you use (when accessing the website), and identiļ¬ers associated with your devices. Your devices may also transmit location information to the Services. If you wish to prevent the transmission of such location information, refer to your device’s documentation to disable this functionality.
Cookies: We use technologies like cookies on our website to provide the Services.
Marketing. If you register for our Services or speak with one of our representatives, we may send you information about upgrades and other marketing materials. Users who receive these marketing materials can opt out at any time.
Data processing: We collect and use the personal data described above in order to provide you with the Services in a reliable manner. We may also collect and use personal data for our legitimate business needs.
Information sharing: We may share information as discussed below, but we will not sell it to advertisers or other third parties.
User Controls: You can access, modify, and delete your personal information by logging into your Riget account and going to your account settings page.
Information Retention: When you sign up for an account with us, we will retain your account information for as long as your account exists or as long as we need it to provide you the Services. If you delete your account, we will delete your information as soon as possible, generally on the same day we receive your account deletion request. However, (1) there might be some delay in deleting this information from our servers and back-up storage; and (2) we may retain this information if necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
International Information Transmission: To provide you with the Services, we may store, process, and transmit the information we collect about you in the United States and locations around the world—including those outside your country. Data may also be stored locally on the devices you use to access the Services.
File and Communication Content: Because the FortiFile application uses peer-to-peer connections that are fully encrypted end-to-end, Riget has no knowledge of, and takes no responsibility for, the content of Files or Communications transferred to or from any country or jurisdiction.
Personal Data Control: You have control over your personal data. For example, you can:
You can submit a data access request or request that your personal data be deleted by emailing us at support@rigettech.com. If you would like to object to the processing of your personal data, please email us at support@rigettech.com.
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time, and will post the most current version on our website.
